manic vandal
non important card x3
pack 2
sleep
destructive force (i took cause the pack was weak and i can trade it to someone)

manic vandal
unsummon
vulshok berserker (almost dropped pack, what was he doing here????)
goblin tunnler
I went to deck build and looked over my for sure cards (bolt bolt outrage, sleep sword, etc) and relized that i have allot of tempo and mid-range creatures but no beaf, except juggy. so i went though my cards a few times and though it out and i came to the conclusion of this deck.
creatures:11
augury owl:1
aether adept:2
harbor sepent:1
juggernaut:1
manic vandal:1
vulshok berserker:1
azure drake:2
scroll thief:1
goblin tunneler:1 (mainly for the thief)
spells:12
foresee:2
ice cage:1
unsummon:1
lightning bolt:2
sleep:1
pyroclasm:1
chandra's outrage:1
thunderstrike:1
preordain:1
destructive force:1
artifact:2
elixir of immortality:1
sword of vegence:1
land:18
mountain:8
island:8
terramophic:1
mystifying maze:1
total cards 43.
i know 43 is a little overboard but i figured with all draw power i would be ok i assumed that thief would be going crazy. i also only played the tunneler for the theif on times when sword is not out. my sideboard plan was combust, and a second manic vandal.
Round 1 g1
my opponent was 3 colors (jund) but had no mana support so he was stuck holding red cards and having no mountains in play until turn 9 at which i had him dead on board without the sword and when he bolted my adept i just untapped played and equiped sword and he was history.
g2
after boarding nothing, and he board in a few things we went at it, this time he had black/red spells and mana going fine but my adepts were still to much for him to deal with cause i bounced his 6/4 wurm twice before outraging it.
round 2 g1
i was playing against joel, he was black/green with fatties. in game one he had a few mana problem, he missed drops 3,5, and thenher missed 6 totally he never got to 6 mana, but on turn 4 he played a sword of his own to go onto his child of night, i just untapped and played vandal which irritated him as much as his mana. then he playyed land four finally and played jugernaut, i though about for a little and played land 6 then cast adept bounce my own vandal and then played it again destroying the naut aswell he scooped in anger.
g2
he came off strong with a turn 1 elf into a turn 2 sacred wolf, i played ice cage on elf to which he answed unholy strength and pounded me, i played an adept and bounced his elf and he played child and packleader i untapped swong and played a pyroclasm hoping to slow him down. he played packleader and passed. i untapped played forsee cause my hand was empty and i found 2 land sleep and sword but no more creatures so i grabbed the sleep and shipped the rest. he untapped swong and casted a 6/4 wurm. i played sleep and passed. he untapped and played the 7/7 wurm. i untapped and played a very underwhelming scroll theif and decided to call it a game, *he showed me overwhelming stampede* i told him that was just overkill.
g3
he had mana problems again but recovered quickly i had sweet man and curved preordain, into ice cage his guy. scrol theif into adept and unsummon for more cards and then he played 6/4 agains and packleader, he drew leader after wurm, lol. I waited 1 turn by playing a drake and passing, he played a second 6/4 wurm and i answer with destructive force clearing the feild and passing turn he kept 2 swamps no green. he drew and played child of night. i answed with adept for child he put it back down without land and i played sword he played second child and swong i took it and then i equpped sword and swong, he took ti and i played bolt to both children. he drew another nonland and scooped it up.
round 3
g1 (before the game jake and i were talking about our decks and he said he had nothing to fear from my sword his blinding mage would handle it (i remembered that) so when he played turn 2 mage on my 3 i played adept bouncing it he played it back with and elite vanguard, i played turn four adept and bounced mage again, then i swong and he took next turn he played the mage (3rd time) and he played (+2 +2 mountain walk) on vanguard and swong leaving him no mana untapped so i unsummoned it. next trun i played juggernaut and swong into him. he untapped played another mage and passed i bolted the mage that could do anything and untapped and swong all out he played and outrage to my juggy on his turn and left a white open. i swong 1 mage (he tapped other) and then i casted the sword and left red open. he played pacifism on mage and played a canyon minotaur leaving white open, bolted mage at end of turn. he scooped and commited *my poor mage*
g2 once agains he played turn 2 mage i passed, he played turn 3 mage and vanguard and swong for 1, i played adept but bounced his vanguard instead, (reason coming up) he thought about it and then played 2/2 griffin and the vanguard again, i swong and he took it so i casted sleep (being greedy) he untapped and played assault griffin and passed. i swong again he decided to block but before damage i casted unsummon on my adept and played pyroclasm and he was devastated but he untapped and played serra angel and i just played a land and passed, (i had force in hand) he swong the angel and played hoarding dragon fetching nothing. i made a comment *the skys are against me* he smiled and was caught offgaurad as i played force and dropped a land afterwards. he drew no land for next 3 turns and i played berserker followed by sword and he was out of game.
round 4 (mitch finally relized that he need more rounds) my opponent asked to draw cause he had to run and grab food for other people i agreed only cause i got food aswell.
Top 8
round 1
playing against greg (friend of whom is good but usally loses to me) he was plaing an american deck spalshing white for pacifismand sun titan, he had 2 pyormancers and 2 crystal balls his removal was lightning bold and outrage, he also had 2 adepts, i knew all this going in. I watched his game earlier and was liking his deck.we had stupid turn s 4-6 he played a 2/2 lion on 2 and on three i bounced it with adept, he adepted my adept i adepted his adept he adepted mine replaying wolf, i double adepted and he doubled back, i laughed and casted pyroclasm. Enough adepts? he played the wolf and a canyon minotaur, and commited *should i return them?* i told him nope just toss them i untapped played a land and casted force with a land in hand, he saced all but a mountain. he played a land and played a piker, i adepted it and he played crystal ball and passed. i untapped swong and casted vandal, he looked at me then scooped *is there anything in your deck that doesn't answer mine?*
game 2
he mulled two 6 i kept and he played t3 ball and i played sword. He red sword and made commit about nice foil then he played lion with red open. i played scroll theif he scyed. he untapped swong i let it through he casted mightly leap and then bolted my theif. i untapped and played tunnler, equiped and swong. he untapped and played shiv;s embrace on guy and swong again, i played adept and he said *yep not surprised, then i equipped adept and swong, he answered with pacifism on adept and pyromancer. i casted sleep and swong with tunnler. he played serra angel. i unsummoned my adept at end of turn and he was like *oh crap here we go.* i reassured him that i would not bounce his guy. i just played vulshok with a red open and he took it, he untapped and swong flyersi took all. *oh no bolt?* no reason to i told him. i equip vulshok with sword and then i casted the adept targeting the angel and attcked he bolted my guy. then he replayed angel and swong flyer again, i untapped and played force he lost all creatures and all land. i was left with mountain and island still holing island and adept (i swong first obviously). he showed me sun titan in hand and then flipped over top card to reveal a plains *which he was short* well this is too late, he proceed to dead draw 4 turns while i dream land land land and played azure daze who took sword next turn and greg shook my hand enough i got nothing coming.
round 2 i had to face jake again and this time he was more then ready for me, game one was me controling his blinding mage again, but in g2 he sided them out (i wouldn't) he brough in more red creatures and was able to get out a stronger force them me and i did not draw land 7 for force. game thrre was going ok until he turn 6 lava axed me after a turn 5 fireservant. i attacked all in and brought him down to 5 me at 3 and i casted the force leaving him landless and nothing in play and me with just 2 island (i only had 2 out and i had an adept in hand) he passed, i played a land and played the sword, he passed. i played augury owl and scyred and passed. he passed. i equipped the owl and swong. he drew mountain and bolted me. he confessed holding the bolt whole time.
all in all i thought the deck was underwhelming but apparently with all tempo control i had it was ok. until next time draft greedy and win. Peace!!

Another day in the draft
First of all, i want to express something. I play magic for the fun in playing, not always to win. This may help you understand some of my odd picks in this draft. I must also allow you to see the frame of mind i was in as well cause you will not understand why i picked certain cards when i did. On Wednesday i was in a draft where my opponent did turn zero leyline of anticapation. He then just played land and passed until I played and attacked then he decided to block with creatures he played as instants. The leyline made all my combat decisions bad and hard. The ability to just sit and intercept my creatures with instant speed was uncanny. Later on friday before fnm i did a draft and i had leyline in a blue/white flyer deck and i relized how much fun it was to be in such control. my opponent attacked with a wing griffin and i drop a serra angel on his turn and block he tries to giant growth and i play a holy stength as an instant as well. so i like playing with the leyline allot.
Now that you know that you may understand why I 1st picked one in the draft. I already knew i wanted to be blue, i have a high success rate in drafting blue. i pased on a pick 2 leyline figuring it would come back, it did not but i still went very well. there was a great moment in the draft. Pack 3 pick 1, I picked a jace's ingenuity and passed the pack with this comment "here you go the rare bomb is not in my color". The guy next to me almost fell out of his chair. I had just passed him a sword of vengeance. "How is that not in your colors???" i just shrugged my shoulders and proceeded to draft.
Now i know that you are asking yourself whether or not i am a total bad player. How can the sword not be in my color it's an artifact. well i'll tell you this, my deck had only 5 creatures in it.
Spells:17
ice cage:3
leyline of anticipation:1
jace's ingenuity:2
tome scour:5
call to mind:1
jace's erasure:1
tramatize:1
sleep:2
preordain:1
artifacts:2
temple bell:1
elixir of immortality:1
Creatures:5
azure drake:1
harbor serpent:2
Air servant:1
Augury owl:1
land:18
In round 1 i only played 17 land and had some mana issues which caused me to lose game one. I resuffled and tried again with 17 and i won game 2, but in game 3 i had serious mana issues and i had to mulligan to 5 keeping tome, tome, island, island harbor serpent. i proceeded to draw 4-5 drop spells and no land then i drew land 3 on turn 7. It was too late to insert myself into ganme he was white/green and had a board of people running around.
In round 2 i played against a black green deck with allot of black removal and some green fatties, his removal was almost useless, he had 3 assassinates and my creatures never saw a reason to tap. he had no pump so ice cgae was very effective at shutting down his fatties.
In round 3 i played kevin who knew what i was playing and figured he had an easy win. I won game 1 on turn 5 after scouring him 6 times. In game 2 he decided to ask the judges if he could put more cards into his deck , and he is allowed to deck anything he drafted an unlimited land. (I did not stop him cause i will take a game 1 win and a delayed till time game 2 anyday) He sat back down and i counted his deck 75 cards. I went to work on hitting it hard he had turn 4 fauna shaman and was using his mana to fetch whatever creatures he could play and he was able to pound on my skull. In game three he went and got more land, his deck went up to 89 cards and he was now 5 colors. I found out after game his hand he kept. forest, shaman, mountain, runeclaw bear, island, swamp, expanse. i kept island x3, jace's erasure, preordain, temple bell. first turn he expanses searches for a plains, i play island and pass, he plays shaman and i play icecage on shaman, turn 3 he plays land and passes, i play erasure and preordain. then he plays hornet sting on shaman and tosses the bear to get nightwing shade. i draw another cage but decide to wait i play bell and start to have fun. He plays shade, i cage it and starts pounding with shaman, i draw elixir refill and cast ingenuity drawing elixir and 2 scours. he proceeds to draw and play lands while i continue to mill away his creatures, he get in more with shaman but draws no one to search for another creature with. I win the game and i earn 9th place. not top 8 but i had allot of fun. In my book thats all that counts. Until next time draft greedy and win (i gotta start being greedy again.)
Now that you know that you may understand why I 1st picked one in the draft. another day of drafting m11
hmm well i seriously do not like what happened on friday. my draft deck featured chandra, 2 lighning bolts, 2pyroclasm, and 2 outrages but it won zero games. so i was very frustrated by the lack of me drawing any removal for my opponents creatures in all games.
I also did a 4-man team draft with a crzy rare pool. Such as inferno titan, frost titan, and sun titan. It also had day of judgement, mystifying maze, fauna shaman. i drafted the shaman and the inferno, i also had the sun but he did not see play, i played a mono green deck spalshing 4 red cards. the creature quality was sour though and that why grizzy bears actually made deck, hornet sting was also main deck, lol.
I am trying to make a type 2 idol deck with black. such ideas include viscera seer, bloodghast, reassembling skeleton. and i wonder how to build such a monstrasity i have so many ideas on what creatures to put into it, i would like anyone who reads this to post on this deck and help me construct it. this is the current version
primeevil titan:4
grave titan:2
green leyline:3
viscera seer:4
reassembling skeleton:3
bloodghast:2
fauna shaman:3
pelakka wurm:2
emerakul, the aeon's torn:1
cultivate:4
rampant growth:4
jinxed idol:2
pawn of ulamog:2
land 24
swamp:9
forest:9
khandi garden:2
bojuka bog:4
any ideas?

More m11 drafting
well hello again, i know most of you want me to stop but i will not. I feel that my advice is really advice. It comes from my own play experience, and while i may mis-judge certain cards i still give good advice allround. Now please take in mind, that unless you pilot a card, you have no idea how good or bad it really is. Most card read as being very bad, but they may not be. But thats enough of me talking about un-magic stuff.
Drafting status:
Red is actually kinda playable depending what else you got, i was able to synergy build a green/red deck that abused pack leader. I must also ask, What is wrong with main deck reverberate? I thinks its a great combat or removal spell, you just do not know which yet.
Green is full of big dorks and thats what they are good for. Green also has some cheap costing faties and a few underrated cards. I think most people discount bridle boar; sure its 2g for a 2/2 but hey he's a 4 life back-up. In some games thats all that matters. I also think green is the best place for the +3/+1 equipment to go, it fits nicely on sacred wolf.
White i stil kinda do not like it here but the bombs are nice. I really have tried to not draft white, i just am not a fan of white's usally sub-par creatures. I do notice that white is almost exactly m10 with new bombs. So i would assume the drafting is the same. Main decking solemn offering is more common though cause of ajani pridemate.
Black is sick. reassembling skeleton is about to become 1st pick no mater what and pray for a viscera seer. The ability to scry on that scale is totally stupid. Not to mention the bloodthorn and he's a common as well, great deck with no rares. The removal is in high quality and the spells are nice. some bad dorks like that 4/2 but mostly there are playable creatures.
Blue excels in the usaul, flyers and draw power. In m11 its more like Scry power though. blue also has some big dorks to play well with green. Combat tricks to play with white. Control to go with black. Draw/scry for red. Blue is that basice all around color that splashes well with the whole party.
Finally one more word to all the haters, POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that way we can debate, discuss, and delve into the knowledge of drafting.
Until next time, draft greedy and win.

M11 drafting
ok i finally got to one and i liked the drafting but before i get into the deck and how i did and such i have got something to get off of my chest.
Why the Hell do People draw?????? Seriously unless you are already in top 8 it is pointless and potentially bad. because if you lose next round you are dream crushed and you knocked out but if you win which you shouldn't then you make it. Now i do not mind people who are both undefeated and if they draw they each make top 8 and top 8 is next round then ok that i can understand. But to draw in round 2 for no reason and then knock people who have undefeated streaks out of top 8 over a mulligan is just wrong. I swear with all reads as my witness, if i go to a pro tour, ptq, grand pre, or any other huge event i will NEVER draw. i will earn my spot.
ahh, now i feel better (actually i don't but alas) onward to the draft. you ever opena rare that demands you full devotion? i did, pack 1 picks in order: nantuko shade, dark tutalge, reassembling skeleton, stormtide levithan, augry owl, foresee, viscera seer, .... pack 2 i first picked rise from gave and got passed mind control, assassinate, mind control, lillan's specter, lilian's specter, aether adept, aether adept..... and in pack 3 i got another skeleton, temple bell, bloodthron vampire, bloodthorn vampire, whispersilk, and such. so here is what my mind concocted
creatures:14
nantuko shade:1
stormtide leviathan:1
viscera seer:1
scroll theif:1
liliana's specter;2
augury owl:1
bloodthrone vampire:2
child of night:1
aether adept:2
reassembling skeleton:2
spells;10
dark tutalege:1
temple bell:1
mind control:2
sign in blood:1
assassinate:1
foresee:1
whispersilk cloak:1
corrupt:1
rise from grave:1
land:17
swamp:10
island:7
i know most people think the tutelage is not worth the effort but i disagree, with all the scry i had i only took 2 damage the whole entire time i had it out. in round one i slaughtered my opponent cause his deck was slow and he got out his air servant on 4 only to have me steal it on 5 and continue to pound him with it and my people, and in game 2 i just got off the shade and then the cloak and he had no answer to me equipping it so i just killed him with swamps. in round 2 i played against a mono-white deck that had ajani's matra on 2 both games so in game 1 i had to use the levithan to slow him down and pound his skull in, and in game two i used the vampire with cloak and the skeleton to deal 21 damage them 21 again next turn. In round 3 i found out about the draw situationa and found out that if i did not win i would be knocked out of top 8. so in game 1 i had to mulligan, auto lose. and in game 2 he had mana screw, so game 3 was our actual real game and he sqeaked out the win by stealing my leviathan and then throwing and ember hauler at me. to kill me. so for going 2/1/0 i got 10th place which sucks i swear we should do 4 round instead of 3 if more then 24 people come.

M11 drafting
read the title, lol i have done almost none of that, i missed last weeks cause of black-out i missed this weeks cause of work/traffic. so i wonder if ill ever get one of these in, i did do a 6-man team draft on saturday and that was odd. here is what i learned from that.'
1) baneslayer is still not worth splashing for, she wins zero games.
2) ice cage is actually playable in this format, not allot of good equip and also all the spells that target you want them to waste.
3) red is unplayable in this format, did you guys see white in ROE, red in m11 is actually worse the creatures are poor extremely poor the only reason to draft a red card is to splash, there are almost no bombs and the removal is terrible, i think there are 4 total good red cards. bolt, fireball, thunder strike, chandra; thats it and chandra need 2 red to play so she's a little hard to splash.
4) white is bomby but doesn't do well in removal department.
5) blue likes counterspells, and you need to draft them this time.
6) the combat tricks are all over the place and that is why the tricks are almost removal.
i have only drafted white and blue so far so i really know nothing about black and green, i have watched people draft red and wondered about there picks. Hopefully ill be drafting this friday but i will also try to remeber details about my wendsday draft as well so i can post them both. until next time, draft greedy and Win.

Drafting M11
well first of all there was no friday draft since the storm knocked out the power. (mad panda) But do not think i came here to right empty handed. On saturday i did a 6-man team prize supported draft, which means that what you open you keep just the winning team splits the prize which was 9packs. That draft is what i am gonna talk about with you and some stuff i already notice about this season.
This is nothing like drafting ROE, that was fun. M11 drafting seems derogatory, all that seems to matter is who draws their bombs first. The thing is if there are no bombs then you get a real game. My deck was green/white mainly little creatures and some life gain.
the deck
White:17
Ajani's pridemate:2
Ajani's mantra:1
Armored ascension:1
Assault griffin:1
Excommunicat:2
Goldenglow moth:1
Inspired charge:1
Serra angel:1
Squardron hawk:2
Tireless missionaries:2
Veneful archon:1
Wild griffin:1
Green:6
Acidic slime:1
Autumn's veil:1
Brindle boar:2
Overwhelming stampede:1
Spined wurm:1
Artifact:1
juffernaut:1
land:17
plains:9
forest:8
the deck worked very well and the life gain was just stupid good, i had a 14/14 ajan's pridemate waltzing around and the funny part is he was enchanted by my opponent's Quag sickness and they had 6 swamps, so it actually was a 20/20. The mantra on turn 3 is actually good cause 1 life a turn can actually make the game longer.
Drafting notes:
Titans- Bombs except the green one, he kinda doesn't do enough in the limited format.
Planeswalkers: Did you draft m10? same idea.
Signiture spells: these seem god enough to be 1st picks except jace's an vess's.
Removal: there is allot of this around and most pieces are good, infact there are combat tricks in every color that can also be removal, but ice cage still sucks.
Equip: there actually is less of this this time around, and most is overpriced, only the sword of vengence is worth the time and mana.
thats about all i know for now. until next time. Draft greedy and win!!!!!

The final ROE draft.
here we are again at the end of the "season." i am kinda sad to see it go, drafting ROE was a very fun experience and i wish i could do it more, besides moto. Next week starts the drafting of M11 i am sooo not looking forward to this but we shall see.
Onward to what happened on friday.First of all JUSTICE!!!! :P i finally pulled a Gideon, it was in my 8th prize pack. i am soo glad i did NOT pull is in a draft, i would not play it and everyone would hate me for it.
I first pick Kozilek and started to go blue with a pick 2 lighthouse chronologist, then i picked the ondu giant thinking green was ok, found oout next pick it was not so i picked narcolpsy, verented teacher, eldrazi temple, sea gate oracle, rapacious one (hate draft), flame slash, rapacious one (hmmm), and so forth. pack 2 i got passed a foil it that betrays, skittering invasion, flameslash and a fifth to last pick heatray. Pack 3 i got reacurring insight, disaster radaius, and i hated a transcendant master. here i sthe deck that got me a top 4 split
Red:15
Rapacious one:2
brimstone mage:1
brood birthing:2
flame slash:2
disaster radius:1
heat ray:1
kiln fiend:1
spawning breath:2
emrakul's hatcher:1
forked bolt:1
Blue:4
recurring insight:1
narcolepsy:1
sea gate oracle:1
lightnouse chronoligist:1
Arifact/eldrazi:6
Kozilek the butcher of truth:1
skittering invasion:1
it that betrays:1
Ulamog's crusher:1
hand of emrakul:1
prophetic prism:1
land:17
mountain:10
island:6
eldrazi temple:1
i know its 62 so what i got allot of draw and most cards are cheap anyways. most round my removal was just too much or and eldrazi came down too fast. in top 8 i had to beat gideon in a white/blue leveer deck and i got lucky games 2 and 3, i kept 1 landers both games and drew more land, why keep 1 landers you ask. game 2 hand: flame slash, flame slash, forked bolt, narcolespy, spawning breath, mountain, prism. would you keep that? game three hand spawning breath, flame slash, heat ray, forked bolt, brood birthing, mountain, sea gate oracle. would you keep that? i drew a land in second on turns 2,3 and 4 then in game 3 i drew into hand of emakul and had him out on turn 3 and drew into temple, skittering and kozilek, which he smited then 3 turns later i redrew kozilek, which promtped him to scoop, with the remark "were you drafting with chimps? how did your deck get so busted?? i told him about the 1 landers and he said i had allot of faith.

Another day in the draft
First of all happy 4th of july to all who care. The draft on friday was very uneventful my deck was good but my pod was stupid after round 1 7 people out of a 10 man pod dropped, for some reason or another so i ended up going 2/1/0 with a bye and since the guy who beat me just drew in i got 9th. I hate people who draw. so i kinda got mad and tosses that deck.
Do not think that that ends my post though i still got something for you. After the draft i did a 4 man prize pack draft with a couple of friends and this draft was stupid funny. Here is the deal, from left to write me, clint, billy, and shawn. we all open up a drafting bomb pack one pick one. Shawn who like white, for reasons beyond me opens foil Deathless angel. Clint who enjoys different kinda decks opened Bear umbra. Billy opened Awakeing zone. Me i who like drafting blue, open Sphinx of magosi. I picked splinter twin second and figure blue red will be nice. 4 more picks in i notice a stagger shock still in the pack and figure that red is open so i get a few more red cards, then i notice some white removel Oust in one pack and i take it just to take it. I got 1 evolving wild, which i was very happy to see i also drafted a bad rare and made it work. here is the deck.
White:3
Oust:2
repel the darkness:1
Blue:8
hada spy patrol:1
narcolepsy:1
regress:1
sphinx of magosi:1
sea gate oracle;1
surrakar spellblade:1
Mnomic wall:1
frostwind envoker:1
red:11
lavaflame invoker:1
flame slash:2
stagger shock:2
splinter twin:1
rapacious one:2
emerakul's hatcher:1
wrap in flames:1
Surreal memoir:1
Artifact:1
Sphinx bone-wand (oh yeh i did):1
the deck was greedy yet fu to play, i ended up winning the 4 man even though i thought the deck sucked, i never put splinter twin on the wall i did put in hatcher. the chemistry between the wand and rebound was something unreal that i never phantomed. i also enjoyed how much the deck was able to handle anything thrown at in a variety of ways. the only game i lost was rto awakening zone cuase i could not control it then in g3 he played ancient stirrings and revealed to me that he sent zone to bottom, (he should have) and i was very releived. next week is thelast eldrazi draft then i start drafting m11 i am so not looking forward to it, i have been looking at this set and it makes me glad i am quitting standard.

This past friday's FNM draft
Well first of all, i must apoligize to you all, i was unable to write down pick by pick. i was also very poor on taking notes on my opponents decks, but i do have my decklist and some sideboard discisions that got me 1st place this week. :)
The deck:62
Creatures:11
Frostwind invoker:2
Merfolk skyscout:2
Dormant gomazoa:1 (yes I did!)
Kazandu tuskcaller:1
Mnemonic wall:1
Champion's drake:1
Skywatcher adept:1
Conquering manticore:1
Brimstone mage:1
Spells:13
Spawning breath:1
Eel umbra:2
Traitorous instinct:1
Domestication:1
Crab umbra:1 (oh yeh, TASTE IT)
Gravitational shift:1
Unified will:1
Regress:1
See beyond:1
Narcolepsy:1
Lay bare:1
Prophetic prism:1
Land:18
island:9
mountain:4
forest:2
evolving wilds:3
i actually had 4 wilds but i only sides the 4th in when i made a Pelakka wurm splash so i has more beef and some life gain. There was also a match where i sided in white for a mammoth umbra so i could swing faster and bigger to get around a wall deck.
I know that dormant gomazoa and the crab umbra is a horrible combo but it actually worked and the umbra also went on tuskcaller to save her and sped up the elephant production. but heck i loved when i could go turn three 5/5 flyer and teh swing it next turn with crab umbra, i also had the 2 skyscouts which helped untap it.
I also knew that "shift" was a great offense card but i had no idea that on defense it was great as well i played sometimes just to off set a broodwarden so my opponent had no army to attack with.
i first picked the manticore pack one pick one and unknown to me at the time, the guy to my right had picked karagan dragonlord and the guy to my left first picked Sarkan the mad so i noticed that 5 picks in the red was dried up so i grabed blue planning to go red+blue but then noticed no red again but i got passed the warcaller and tehn 3 wilds in a row. so i went with it. then i noticed that blue was wide open and red was kinda dead. I also noticed that some people under vaule unifed will and Eel umbra so i took advantage.

Drafts of the Over-greedy drafter.
ok starting with the draft on this friday i will post the entire draft, pack by pack and pick by pick, as best i can. I am drafting fro real at my local FNM so i will try to write down as much detail as i can. i will post the deck i had last friday and how it did on thursday, i got to rebuild it. it got me top 4 because we did a four-way split and i was surprised it got so far cause i thought it sucked. Check back here every week for more results.

Current type 2 deck.
Hello again. I have not play tested this deck in an actual tournament yet, cause i am currently quitting standard fr many reasons but in other non tournament games the deck is very consistent and i love the ability it has, that every card either does something or replaces itself.
Blue/White control 61 cards
Planeswalkers:5
Jace balern:1
Jace the mind sculptor:2
Gideon jura:2
Artifacts:3
Overflowing chalice:3
Creatures:7
Sphinx of jwar isle:3
Wall of omens:3
Kozilek butcher of truth:1
Spells:22
Day of judgement:3
Deprive:3
Mind spring:2
Negate:2
Olivion ring:2
Path to exile:3
Spreading seas:4
Survival cache:2
Land:25
Celestial Colonnade:4
Glacial Fortress:3
Island:6
Kabira Crossroads:3
Plains:3
Sejiri Refuge:3
Tectonic Edge:3
The sideboard is very simple actually.
2 All Is Dust
3 Flashfreeze
2 Into the Roil
3 Kor firewalker
1 Negate
1 Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
3 Wall of Denial
I know, I know the first question on you're mind is probably why no Baneslayer. 1) I like sphinx better, the shroud ability is a very good asset. 2)It also hurt my opponents removal spells, their only targets are really the walls of omens, who wants to path a wall of omens? 3) i cannot afford them. i upped the life gain lands and deprive to compensate for the life gain that she provides.
I chose survival cache over deprive for the reasons of life gain and i actually like the rebound effect of cache.
Why 61 cards you may ask. well i always like something a little different, when i draft i usually play 41 just to be me. So when i play standard i play 61 so that the deck has one more answer.
Most of the time i notice my hand is full of threats/answers that enjoy being in control of the game.
When M11 comes out i was planning on adding Sun titan. Below:Sun Titan
Creature - Giant
Vigilance
Whenever Sun Titan enters the battlefield or attacks, you may return target permanent card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6/6
i figured with him i could get back walls and spreading seas which means more card drawing and if oblivion ring stays that also. If oblivion ring is not reprinted it may become journey to nowhere. but the titan is very useful in this deck i think.i think he will be a 2 of card and he'll kick the caches out of the deck because when i am not ahead on life the cache is a horrible card in my hand. If i am still playing then, (fat chance) i would probably run something like that.

First thoughts on M11
So far as i write this article mtg salvation has revealed 117/249 cards from the M11 core set. Now first of all no sets are being dropped from type 2 M10 is still legal and will be legal until "scars" comes out. So I was very surprised to see allot of M10 reprints. 1st of all the one that will baffle all those to come, is Baneslayer, or as she is more widely know "walletslayer". One can only hope that her reprinting will lower her outstandingly high price, but then again who wants her, in my opinion jwar jwar is better. Also coming back are the M10 dual lands which i think is very nice and i hope we get the other 5 within the year. So far there have been some nice new cards i.e plummet, and even this vampire who pretty much makes sure that nocturnes will NOT be back. i also noticed a joke, look at the planeswalker's cards. there is a spot missing for said planeswalker....hmm are the original 5 returning again? I am saddened through for certain cards not making the cut already, like warp world. i just now red some report that ranger of eos will be back, this is false there is no way they would reprint ranger and baneslayer, ranger has no value to the standard environment, with him gone people will finally know just how bad vengevine really is and also i would rather believe they would reprint bloodbraid elf first. I pray that wizards never prints such a ridicoulously bad card again. a 3/2 for 4 is sad and the unpredictability of cascade is not consistent enough to promote such bad cards. the set already has some broken cards and a very good drafting pool, which is much better the M10 where everyone was black and it sucked. this core set looks very widespread and vastly powerful.

drafting ROE
It has been a while since i typed here, so allow me to welcome myself back. OK now onward to my topic. I have been drafting ROE with some success and some failure so allow me to part some of my wisdom. Black is a very strong color and easy splash-able, some strong cards include vendetta, last kiss and virulent swipe. I also notice that black has the most E. removal which is what i like, by E. removal i mean removal that hits eldrazis like vendetta/corspehatch/ and a lot of death touch people. Green is kinda hard to draft for several reasons, 1)everyone and there mothers ad athers is drafting green cause they do not know where else to go. 2) it has the least removal, and the most eldrazi spawm makers. 3) allot of nice but deep ensuing creatures. i have also noticed that the 2/2 death touch guy is very under drafted, i think he is very moderate to high pick able espesically in the white+green deck, slap a hyena umbra or a mammoth on him and he becomes a monster removal source. Blue is the smallest color in the set and i have little draft experience there because i was blue for the entire WW season so i am kinda shying from it. I have noticed that the levelers are very strong but i think that's all blue got. White, now everyone know loves white and thinks its the best color to draft, i disagree, i think its closer to the worst. They got so many trashy cards that i really have avoided the color all together, some of the levelers are good but mostly i see temp removal in oust, a bad 2/1 and a useless enchant that gains me life, the mine feild is almost unplayable in any offensive deck. most of the creatures are sub-pare except maybe 3 leveler guys, aside from bombs the color really has nothing. Red is in my eyes, the best drafting color and i have been in it every time. Tons of good removal, some ridiculous creatures and several strategies make red the most fun. i advise you to go for the instant speed removal though, cause forked bolt sucks. i have no experience with flame rift (i know wow) but i have allot of staggershocks and a ton of heat rays. i also have a stack of spawning breath, this card is unvauled, look at the set count the creatures this card kills. red also got kirlin fiend, a 1/2 common i have been trying to break, by playing removal at instant speed you can punch skull for allot and make ur opponents day bad, and i notice that the b+r combination make very good use of keening stone and have wn with it a few times. Eldrazi, yea i know not a color but it is in this set. i have played most of these guys with some success but i notice that the higher costing ones need certain decks, you will not see emakrul in a blue+white deck. In g+r you may see 2. I find this format cool because it seems that the colors have many different strategies, and can be very diverse. But after careful study i must argue that 17-18 lands is best depending on the deck, but 16 can never happen, i hae played 41 cards every time also though i like 24 play ables usually. This is a format where missing a land drop can actually cost a game. i also notice that back in ZZW that 15 is a nice LT but in ROE 20 is a scary number it sems too low the game can change in a second, by one card. i saw a game that was one sided and the losing person played a traitor's instinct, took a lv5 vindicator and swong for 11 then sacked the creaute to a vampire. then next turn he won the game. all because of one card. he was dead on board, but he won. That's just a tip of the iceberg, but alas my fingers are getting tired of typing so ill leave you to draft some more and i will try to get some blue in my belt, maybe some white but no promises.

Summoning trap
maybe its just me but i notice allot of green/white summoning trap decks being built already. i like the idea but i like blue better. Blue allows you to play see beyond which can put the creatures from ur hand back into library and also blue allows jace which does the same. Blue also gives counter-spells, plus you get depths which is more deck manipulation. Has anyone else built an idea on this arch-type yet?

The rise of the Shenanigans
Well here we are after a successful prerelease of the newest and latest set of powerful craziness. I was lucky to participate in 2 prerelease sealed events and 1 draft, the bad news is i was green/white in both sealed events and in the draft i was 4 colors... believe it. So most of my research was only done on 2 colors.
The first sealed was on Friday at "laser quest at midnight. my pool was very diverse i had a rare in every color and powerful uncommons everywhere but i lacked in eldrazi fattys. My mvp of the night was "Transcendant master" he got me allot of wins fast and i also had "Awakening zone" which is amazing in sealed. my deck had allot of fast creatures and umbras to enchant tokens and pound on some skulls. My results were 3-3 and i did not get any prize but i learned allot.
On the second sealed, Sunday at noon my pool was horrific, i had awakening zone again but every color but green was totally under par, i had an army of eldrazi people and i had " bear umbra, the deck just would not perform so i went 1/1/1 and decided to drop and draft.
The draft was an 8 man with mostly confident players, i started out by first picking 2 eldrazi gods, the one that brings a creature back and the 9/9 that needs 3 blockers. then i noticed that out of 8 people 9 of them were in green so i drifted around a bit taking good white/blue/green cards. In pack 2 i pulled " realms uncharted" and i took it for a standard deck idea, then i realized that i need 4 lands to even use the card, so i continued trying to be 3 colors because i was strong in each of them, i had 4 mnomic walls and my deck had a huge defensive force. Then mid pack 3 i picked up a consume the meek for my standard deck and ended up going bant splash black for consume which was a VERY good decision in the end.
here are my research results.
ancient stirrings: very good in draft, and sealed
dream cache: very good early or when your ahead
Giddeon: Counter him or die, he is very powerful and hard to kill if piloted correctly.
Transcendant master: very powerful if not answered fast.
guard duty: not much actually the creature can still block.
oust: very effective at the moment answer but only tempo helping
not of this world: most people consider this card unplayable but i like it when people try to turn ur eldrazi against you.
vendaetta is effective but you have to play it correctly and watch your life total.
Level-up guys in general are very nice but they all die to consume the meek and you should with that in mind.
the eldrazi: most of these guys look extremely good, guess what they are. Most gams actually eldrazi races in disguise everyone is tryin to live long enough to win.
I wish i had pulled other colors so i could e more helpful in my research but i got what i got. If anyone would like to contribute i would appreciate it.

Near-Death Experience
2www
Enchantment Rare
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have exactly 1 life, you win the game.
i think thats a fun way to win a game. here is the list so far.

Allies in standard
it is my experience that allies are being underrated in standard play. So I looked at the decks and wondered how to make allies playable and i created white/blue allies. Here is the deck
Creatures:26
hada freeblade:4
Kabira Evangel:4
Kazandu Blademaster:4
talis paladin:3
halamir excavator:3
seagate loremaster:2
ondu cleric:4
spells:10
join the ranks:4
marshall's anthem:2
oblivion ring:2
basilik collar:2
land:25
halmir depths:4
glacial fortress:3
celestrial colonade:4
island:2
plains:12
sideboard:15
brave the elements:3
day of judgement:4
hindering light:3
kor firewalker:3
luminarch ascension:2
i understad that the deck is barely blue but i need blue for draw power and the ability to keep the flow, i wanna play jace in here but i have yet to get any yet. ill probably cut back a paladin and maybe a join for 2 jaces. i know its 61 cards i always play 61 for some odd reason and i find balance there. i was playing purge and mind control in sideboard but i relized that i do not care about ur creatures i care more about mine and protecting them should be my first priority.
i was playing the raptor from blue but for 3 mana i would rather cast evangel or o-ring so i elimiated the flayers entirely. The clerics are not offensive i agree but the life gain kills rdw and allot of aggro decks cannot handle me taking 12 one turn and gaining 20 the next.
any other ideas are helpful and i will look into them.

Pyromancer Ascension
This deck, piloted and created by me, went 3-1 in two daily events recently.
Look for Mnashasp here and here.
The decklist:
4 Halimar Depths
7 Island
3 Khalni Garden
6 Mountain
4 Scalding Tarn
4 Burst Lightning
4 Divination
3 Dragon Fodder
3 Into the Roil
2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Ponder
4 Pyromancer Ascension
4 Time Warp
4 Treasure Hunt
Sideboard
1 Dragon Fodder
4 Negate
4 Polymorph
2 Progenitus
4 Stone Idol Trap
I've been asked by several people what the good matchups are for the deck. This is a tough question to answer, as me and my opponent are playing two seperate games. The toughest matchup is the one in which they answer my pyromancer ascension and i can't refill it in time, and the matchup in which i miff on finding an ascension. The best matchup is a great curve with multiple ponders and lightning bolts for their creatures to activate an ascension quickly.
I must say that Jund is tougher than Naya, and RDW is tougher than Boros. It all comes down to your draws though, and if you can play tight.
Your general strategy should be to try to survive long enough to get an active ascension and then time warp. From there you can throw down a Jace, or divinate, ponder, and time warp again, not missing land drops, and potentially get a second pyromancer online, though it's not always necessary. Sometimes, it's dragon fodder beatdown with your extra turns, and other times you just bolt/burst lightning your opponent out.
The real trick comes when you sideboard. Jund takes out their terminates, Naya their path to exiles, etc etc. All of these decks will still have lightning bolt in their deck. Stone idol trap is your safest polymorph target in these matchups, and he's usually a blowout, taking your opponent down to lethal from a progenitus. of course if they are tapped out on turn 4 and you can polymorph, the game is 95% of the time yours.
Don't SB polymorph against vampires, as gatekeeper will dominate you. Also against RDW you likely don't want the polymorph combo. They just have too much burn, and their creatures are impermanent making a cheap stone idol trap almost impossible. In these matchups you just want to bring in some negates.
Against UW, i sometimes bring in stone idol traps over dragon fodder, as they may have kor firewalker beatdown. I haven't played this matchup more than 4 or 5 times, so i'm not 100% on what to do. But it's not a difficult matchup (though i've always prided myself on beating control decks) and you definitely bring in 4 negates.
Otherwise, i take out 4 Time Warp, 4 Pyromancer Ascension, 4 Treasure hunt. Against jund i take out 3 Burst lightnings as well and bring in the whole board.
If you go to game 3, the elemenent of surprise is mostly gone, and you should be on the draw, so i swap the divinations for treasure hunts to speed up your library searching.
That's it for my primer of the deck. Any further questions i'd be happy to answer if i can. It's a tough deck to play, and is pretty good. I'd recommend it for the skilled lucksacks of the world.

Fledgling Griffin

A Jumping bear at two is pretty good certainly not the worst of cards but not the best of cards either but certainly he will smooth your aggro to victory. Further you can use his jump trick to equip or use tricks to destroy a great many things or just block a flyer or better attack always be attacking.

Magic Musings Archon of Redemption

He creates loops and every one likes loops all you need to do is keep playing flyers and you have an infinite source of life.
Beyond that his is curvy for five and fits well into many plans and he is evasive with a body that is hard to kill.
The things that attack at three don't hit me so I will be redeemed. The faster the better but that is true with any card at any time. Timing is everything. If you are not prepared for the moment the moment will pass you by.

Magic Musings Apex Hawks

This is a fairly standard creature at 5 mana a simple 3/3 but never forget evasion it wins and it fits break bombs removal evasion creatures.
So it is a two for in break both evasive and creature.
This hawk begs for extra mana. So get out your acceleration and play.

World Wake single Card Strategy Admonition Angel

Admontion Angel
Flying
Landfall
Whenever a land enters battlefield under your control, you may exile target nonland permanent other than Admonition angel.
Well first of all its a 6/6 body for 6 mana. that alone is pretty good now let me see some pros, cons, and playability factors.
pro: flying, landfall ability that is spot removal or any non-land permanent.
con: very committing, with WWW in the cost you either need to be in white or have the ability to mana fix.
Playability factors:
Many tricks can be done with this card. Any permanent artifact, enchantment, creature no problem the angel has them handled. So what if you were in a spot where the angel could not handle the multiple threats on the board and you where going to lose but you have a piece of mass removal. The answer then might be to hide your own creature in exile then blast the board for a full flank attack.
Other Strategies are being able to play other lands in quick succession and with that strategy you will be playing the angel mid game instead of late game.
When this tempo is in effect the fists fly and the opponents fall.
